Customer Review: Great - until it's not.

I've been an Apple addict since my primarily Mac Classic in '89. I own and use XP machines because work, not a problem, but I prefer to use Apple stuff when I can. I own or have owned Ipods, Ibooks, Powerbooks (including 540, 5300, and 2 abundant G3s), Power Macs (8600, G3, G4 and G5 towers), a Mac Mini, just about all but a Newton and an iPhone. I've had huge luck with my Apple equipments through the years and persist to rely on their machines because work. With the advent of the Intel Macs, I might run Windows using Parallels so I can use those programs I need that are only accessible on XP and obtain the best of both worlds. Hard to resist, and I replaced an old HP tower with a 24" Intel Imac.

The screen is huge. The performance is strong. Everything looks and feels really nice, just right, as I anticipate enjoys Apple products. It's very quiet, I didn't realize how much noise that older pc was making, and it's also quieter than the AMD-based laptop and the G5 tower it shares office space with. With a bit additional memory, it runs XP huge, right next to MacOS, I love it.

However... the show kicked the bucket previous I'd had it 4 weeks. When I at last heard back enjoys my authorized repair center, they were awaiting it to take about 8 weeks to heal. With some guidance enjoys the repair center and diligent phone calls to Apple, I chopped that to under 5 weeks. Pretty horrible because a type new and not-inexpensive pc. As soon as I started using it once more, I realized that the internal sound had stopped working. After the normal phone ordeal, they've called it back in because repair, probably the logic board this time. They don't accept as true that it serious sufficient to replace it. Based on downtime, it's competently the worst pc I've still owned, also if they heal it in a day this time and it never breaks once more.

If you like the plan, the machine is huge when it works. If you like MacOS but need to run Windows because in any case some stuff, it's performs just alright. (I'm not a high-complete gamer, though, so your mileage may vary.) If you need strong performance in a pocket sized (because a 24" show) and quiet package, it's huge. It was naive because me to think - as I completed - that almost 20 years of loyalty would matter to a filled-size faceless company when push arrived to shove, but because me, I anticipated more enjoys Apple because some reason. The mistake was mine - their superiority on the service side was all in my head. Very few people "need" MacOS because their work, and I'm not one of them, so if I depart drink the Apple path next time I swap out a pc, it will be with my eyes wide open.

Customer Review: No Beige! Aluminum and Glass looks huge wherever!

I've been a devotee of Apple since the 80's. Of course when I was compelled to use Windows, I quickly became a lifetime addict of Apple! I don't to come here to put drink the dim side, but tell you what a positive knowledge a Mac is.

The "Out of Box" knowledge is absolutely pleasant, reassuring that you made the right option.

Apple well knows that client service is job 1, and additionally knows that to shine in that department, your #1 sense of cust. service comes enjoys Disney. Yes.(think about it).

The Mac helps you make the conversion as simple as possible, wether enjoys your old mac, or pc.

The make construction is unparalleled. I think it's calm that apple brought this aluminum complete (which pictures do no justice) up through their complete line, starting with the 2nd Gen. iPod shuffle! This iMac is machined out of a solid piece of aluminum! It's lovely. Glass and aluminum!

So too, is the show. The image seems to jump off the screen, and the mouse curser seems to hover over records. You will have a problem with blaze if you work near windows! (Pun intended).

Easily solved I'm sure by a 3m antiglare sheet.

I love the new keyboard too, nice soft touch, and no clickity clack, unless you request it.

My new iMac acknowledged all my internet settings by simply plugging in the ethernet cable! All of my mail was transferred instantly.

It is Pro-Sumer really intimate too, with firewire 800, and ethernet speeds to 1000tbase.

I open my mail enjoys my Brother, on a working vacation in Chile. The photos import right into iPhoto.

There's no wonder that Apple's machine's are human intuitive, beyond all others.

I downloaded a podcast of a recent interview with Steve Jobs and Bill Gates enjoys the iTunes store. (Podcasts are free), and Mr Gates said "I wish I had Steve's sense of style". It shows, particularly in his software!

Don't listen to any PC naysayers.

Make the move, and make them jealous!

(I have many switcher friends, and, all their friends are resentful!)

One affect that is a myth, is that a Mac will price more than a windows box. Not true. You will save by having less hassles, headaches, and IT bills! This, I can personally attest to.

Good luck on your purchase!

Only thing I recommend, is, purchasing more RAM, aftermarket. It's tons less costly, and so simple to install.

Although, the one Gig it comes with is sufficient, you will upgrade it ultimately.

Pete
