Customer Review: Great model (unless you obtain a defective one!)

This classic was an upgrade to a really old 40GB iPod (I don't remember what lifetime, but it was right previous the color screens arrived out).

MY DEFECT:

When I received this iPod, I was blown somewhere else by the screen resolution, video playback, photos (and automatic photo sync-ing), and all the other stuff my old model didn't do. BUT, whenever I left it sitting because more than a twosome of hours, I had to perform a hard reset just to turn it back on. Apple was very excellent about trading it, but I was a bit surprised that they didn't offer whatever because my inconvenience. The new model works like a charm--no problems to speak of after a month of using it.

RESPONSES TO OTHER COMPLAINTS:

It's true that the cover run lags a bit, but the other things people are whining about are VERY minor, if not nonexistent. If you previously own a 5th lifetime, YOU DON'T NEED AN UPGRADE!

Somebody was whining about the backlight not turning off while he was charging. I don't have that problem--maybe he needs a reset or software update. Somebody additionally protested about the split screen mowing off menu names, which is totally untrue. None of the menu names are hack off because of the split screen! When you browse at the playlist, name, artist, genre, or song level the split screen functions somewhere else and you see the whole name.

One valid complaint that I haven't acknowledged a solution because is the screensaver. When you start playing a song you see the name, artist, album, disappeared by and remaining time, and cover art. But if you don't touch it because about 2 minutes, a screensaver comes on. All the screensaver shows is the time of day and battery life remaining. You have to touch the iPod once more to see the other info.

FEATURES I LIKE (that are new because me):

I like when you're scrolling through a really long list (like of song names), that it will mechanically skip alphabetically through the letters if you start scrolling quickly. It's hard to clarify, but it will actually jump straight enjoys the J's to the K's to the L's and while it achieves it has a filled-size "J" then "K" then "L" on top of the screen.

Another characteristic I like is that it remembers the last playlist you were surfing, also after navigating through abundant menus.

Last, but not least, the Search perform. If you have tons of music like I do and know the name (or part of the name) of a song you want to play, you can use the search. It's just like in iTunes--just start entering letters and it will match all songs or albums that contain those letters.

BOTTOM LINE:

Like any new model it has its bugs that Apple is previously working out. I was unlucky sufficient to obtain a defective model the primarily time around. If you have an old iPod like I completed, this is a wonderful upgrade. If you have a 5th lifetime, you have no reason because also reading this distant! You either have too much money or too much time on your hands!

Hope this helps!
