This movie probably won't change your mind about your particular thoughts but it likely will provide you pause to accept as true that your moral sense with respect to such things as loyalty, medicine abuse, abortion, promise, and also challenging topics to location such as ascertaining redemption at bereavement, and quite a series of morally imprecise self image interactions. If you're looking because the mean terrible Bad Guy to obtain put in his place by the helpless innocent Good Guy, you won't want to watch this movie. If you want a movie to inspire you to assess our at-best imperfect world, and your understanding of your place in it, provide this a view.

Customer Review: A humane overview of humanity

A adventurous movie dealing unemotively with; abortion... incest...racism, - but with an underlying message that we can all take through life: beware the capricious "... Cider House Rules;" that trivial, punitive regulation by a removed oligarchy of their assigned hapless "othered"...and rules that these self-appointed guardians of "excellent order" would never apply to their own lives.

Dr.Wilbur Larch (Michael Caine)runs an orphanage and hospital because society's unwanted and rejected with an unjudgemental kindness. The balmy Larcht lets you accept as true that some among us have unconditional positive regard. (too much?)

A movie to promote balmy reflection on the meaning of wisdom and a deeper humanity ~ well worth a look.
